REDISCOVERED LOCK
THE JOHNNY APPLE SEED OF THE OHIO & ERIE CANAL
The Trenton feeder supplied water into the Ohio & Erie Canal, all the way to Dresden Junction at the
Wakatomika River. It also played an important role for Uhrich's Mill and East port on the Still Water Creek.
Along the Trenton feeder was a lift lock to lower the boats into a basin pool cut out of theTuscarawas River, to be
towed across the Tuscarawas entering Still Water Creek to service the Still Water Valley. This lost lock has been
rediscovered and these pictures depict all that is left of the strong structure that once existed.
These pictures are being seen for the first time I rediscovered this lost jewel in Nov. 2004 some say that it no
longer existed heres the proof that it is still here.
